‘World No Tobacco Day’ is observed around the world every year on 31 May. It is intended to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption around the globe. The day is further intended to draw attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to negative health effects . It currently leads  to the fact that  nearly 6 million deaths each year worldwide, including 600,000 of which are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke or what we call ‘ Passive –smoking’.

Army Public School conducted an effective initiative as an Anti-tobacco drive to enlighten the students  on  the adverse effects of  tobacco smoking  and its aftermath to the human body. Various forms of poster –making and awareness programmes were conducted in the school to spread  a strong  message over the harms and regulations of tobacco products . We hope to educate our society by illuminating the minds with a fact that tobacco brings nothing but a serious threat to the posterity. The activities conducted during the Hobby classes went a long way in instilling values, awareness and Life Skills among the learners.
